Obituary for Verna Berry
Verna Mae Berry of Medfield, died peacefully at the age of 83 on July 26, 2017 surrounded by her loving children.
A lifelong resident of Medfield, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Oja of Norfolk Ma. Verna graduated Medfield High School Class of 1951 and was married to the late Alvin C Berry, originally from Dresden, Maine. Together they raised four children on South Street.
Verna later pursued a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Norwood Hospital and as a Private Nurse. She spent many summers in Ocean Park, Maine vacationing with her family and was an avid tennis player. She also enjoyed painting and attending art shows. Over the years she established loving friendships of many people.
She is survived by her son Steven and his wife Johanne Berry of West Warren, MA., her daughter Susan and her husband Daryl Butler of Ayer, MA., her daughter Sandra Iverson of Stoughton and her youngest son Scott and his spouse Chris of Peabody, MA. She is also survived by her sisters Viola Flaherty of Norwood, Marie McCarthy of Walpole, her brother George Oja and his wife Frankie of California. She also leaves behind 15 beloved nieces / nephews, three cherished grandchildren as well as a multitude of beloved, extended family and friends.
Per her wish, she will be cremated by Robert Mitchell Funeral Home, Medfield, MA.
